Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective October 15, 2026

This policy explains what happens to personal data when you visit Tiny Table at tinytable.io, which is run by Elsewares, LLC, of 7010 N Sheridan Road, Chicago, Illinois (“Elsewares,” “we,” “us”).

The short version

  • Tiny Table has no accounts, shows no ads, and sets no cookies of its own.
  • We count visits without cookies. We use Plausible, an analytics service that never stores your IP address, keeps nothing on your device, and cannot follow you to other sites.
  • The “Tip Us” button comes from Ko-fi, so your browser contacts Ko-fi, and Google Fonts for the button's typeface, on every page.
  • If you submit a game, we keep what you send, including your name and email address, so that we can review the game and get back to you.
  • We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

The rest of this policy is the detail behind those five statements.

1. Who is responsible

Elsewares, LLC is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected], or 7010 N Sheridan Road, Chicago, Illinois 60626.

2. Visiting the site

Hosting and delivery. Tiny Table runs on DigitalOcean and is delivered through Cloudflare, which sits in front of it to speed it up and protect it from abuse. Both necessarily see your IP address and ordinary request details, and our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operations. Cloudflare may set a short-lived, strictly necessary security cookie (__cf_bm, which expires after 30 minutes) to tell people from automated traffic; it is not used for analytics or advertising. Tiny Table itself sets no cookies.

On your device. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is kept in your browser's local storage, under the name theme. It never leaves your device.

Game covers and links. Cover images are served by tinytable.io itself, so the stores and publishers that sell the games do not see you browse them here. A few game descriptions include pictures hosted elsewhere, such as on itch.io; on those pages your browser fetches the picture from that host, which sees your IP address. When you follow a link to a game's store page or a publisher's site, you leave Tiny Table, and that site's own privacy policy applies.

3. Analytics

We count visits with Plausible Analytics, run by Plausible Insights OÜ of Tartu, Estonia, so that we can see which pages and games people look at and how they find the site. Plausible uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you across other websites. When a page loads, your browser sends Plausible:

  • the address of the page. Plausible keeps the page's path and discards anything after a ? except campaign and referral tags such as utm_source or ref;
  • the address of the page that linked you there, if your browser shares it; and
  • your IP address and your browser's User-Agent string.

From these, Plausible records the page you visited, the site or campaign that sent you, your browser, operating system and device type, and an approximate location (country, region and city) worked out from your IP address. It also records how far down the page you scroll and how long you spend on it; which links to other sites you follow, such as a game's store page, and where they lead; which files on tinytable.io you download; and that you submitted a form, such as the game submission form, but never what you typed into it.

Your IP address and User-Agent are never stored. Plausible combines them with the site's name and a random value that is deleted every 24 hours, to count each visitor once per day. It cannot recognise you on a later day or work out who you are. Plausible processes this data on our behalf under its data processing agreement and stores it in the European Union. We see only totals, and we keep them for as long as we use the service.

Legal basis (UK/EU): our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, so that we can improve it (Article 6(1)(f) UK/EU GDPR).

If you would rather not be counted, block plausible.io with your browser's tracking protection or a content blocker. The site works the same without it.

4. The Ko-fi tip button

Every page shows a “Tip Us” button from Ko-fi, which lets you support Tiny Table with a tip. To draw it, your browser loads a script and a stylesheet from Ko-fi (storage.ko-fi.com), and Ko-fi's stylesheet loads a typeface from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Ko-fi and Google therefore see your IP address and ordinary request details on every page, whether or not you click the button.

If you click it, a tipping panel from ko-fi.com opens. A tip is made on Ko-fi, under Ko-fi's own privacy policy, and your payment details go to Ko-fi and its payment providers, never to us. Ko-fi tells us about each tip, such as the name and any message you leave with it; Ko-fi's policy describes what else it shares with the people you tip.

5. Submitting a game

If you use the Submit a Game form, we receive what you enter: your name and email address, the game's name, its publisher or creator, a link to it, your relationship to the game, a description of it, and any additional information.

  • Why: to review the game, to contact you about your submission, and to add the game to Tiny Table if we list it.
  • Where: in a private, access-controlled storage bucket on DigitalOcean Spaces. When a submission arrives, our server's log also records your email address and the game's name. While we review a submission, a copy may be kept in our private code repository on GitHub.
  • What becomes public: if we list the game, its details appear on Tiny Table, and the description you wrote may be used, possibly edited, as the game's description. Your name, email address, relationship to the game and additional information are never published.
  • How long: we keep submissions as the record of how a game came to be listed, until you ask us to delete yours.
  • Legal basis (UK/EU): our legitimate interest in curating Tiny Table and in replying to you (Article 6(1)(f)).

6. Email

If you email us, we hold what you send, including your email address, for as long as needed to deal with it and to keep a record of the exchange, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you.

7. Service providers

  • DigitalOcean, LLC hosts the site and the private storage bucket for game submissions. It processes server logs, including IP addresses, and stored submissions.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. delivers the site and protects it from abuse. It processes your IP address and request details, and may set a short-lived security cookie.
  • Plausible Insights OÜ counts visits, as described in Section 3. It receives your IP address and User-Agent in transit only and never stores them.
  • Ko-fi Labs Limited provides the Tip Us button and handles tips. It receives your IP address and request details on every page, and whatever you give it when you tip.
  • Google LLC serves, through Google Fonts, the typeface Ko-fi's button uses. It receives your IP address and request details on every page.
  • GitHub, Inc. hosts our private code repository, which may hold copies of game submissions while we review them.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we use no advertising providers. Our only analytics provider is Plausible, as described in Section 3.

8. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and the providers above process data in the United States and other countries; Plausible stores analytics in the European Union. Where personal data of people in the UK, EEA, or Switzerland is transferred outside those areas, the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum where applicable) as incorporated in our agreements with those providers.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to receive it in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request. We find submissions by email address, so a request about one should come from, or name, the address you submitted with.

Analytics (Section 3) cannot be tied to you, so we cannot find, export, or delete your share of it on request. Section 3 explains how to stop it being collected.

If you are in the UK or EEA, you may also complain to your national data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk).

If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not process sensitive personal information. The only personal information we collect is the identifiers in game submissions and email (your name and email address). Analytics is deidentified, and we do not attempt to re-identify it.

10. Children

Tiny Table is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has submitted a game, contact us and we will delete the submission.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version number and effective date at the top will change, and the current version is always published at https://tinytable.io/privacy. Where a change materially affects how we handle data already collected, we will say so prominently and, where required, seek consent.

Version 1.0 (October 15, 2026) is the first version of this policy.
