The Deepest Dark

The Deepest Dark is a GM-less horror game intended for oneshot play, written by Ella Watts and illustrated by Georgia Cook.

Included at the end of the game are rules for playing the game solo - as suggested by Matthew Ayers .

The Deepest Darkuses a d6 dice pool system as its core mechanic, encouraging you to map and draw your cave system as you discover it together.  It's set in the real world: your characters are scientists, artists and explorers trapped by a cave-in, and everything you find is inspired by the extraordinary realities of what lies beneath our feet, both natural and man-made. 

The Deepest Dark is a game inspired by TTRPGs like The Quiet Year and Ten Candles, and books like Nan Shepherd's The Living Mountain and Robert McFarlane's Underland. You can use the d20 roll tables included to discover hazards and wonders within the caves, or you can improvise your own. 

The Deepest Dark deals explicitly with themes of grief, death, and claustrophobia. Please be mindful of the content warnings and step away if you need to.
