Princess with a Cursed Sword Collection

A figure stands in an ancient ruin, bare feet on crumbling stone. Her gown far too fine, her sword much too dark. She can not put down the sword until she finds where it came from. So she has come.

The Princess SwordCollection is a four-part trilogy of solo journaling games about duality, self-discovery, and revolution. These games are powered by your own deck(s) of tarot cards: Play with a different deck for a different experience.

This collection includes:

• Princess with a Cursed Sword: The original title. The Princess was a born daughter of power until an unwanted gift led her away from that life.

• Tavern at the End of the World: Your city is under occupation: boots in the streets and checkpoints on the roads. Nevertheless, people need drinks.

• The Empress and Her Seer: The Empress is the most powerful woman in the known world. And you would dare to wield her like a blade?

• Magpie by Moonlight: The papers call you things like "notorious thief" and "brazen criminal," but you prefer to think of yourself as a collector.

• *The Cursed SRD:*A two-page guide to making your own tarot-powered story games with the Princess Sword system.

Each game comes as a printer-friendly black & white pdf and a plaintext .txt file suitable for use with a screenreader. Full-color versions of the first three games (which is to say, not Magpie and the SRD) are also included.

Note: This is a collection of the original one-page versions ofPrincess with a Cursed Sword,its three sequels and SRD, first released on itch.io. It should not be confused with thePrincess with a Cursed Sword Bound Edition,coming in Fall 2026 from Central Michigan University Press, which features revised and expanded versions of the games.
